Season 2 of Good Trouble is set to premiere on June 18th, 2019[2] on Freeform.

Season 2 was officially announced on February 5, 2019,[3] and production started in late February.


Season 2 of Good Trouble explores the trials and tribulations of the tenants of Downtown LA’s hippest residence, The Coterie. This season, Mariana (Cierra Ramirez), Callie (Maia Mitchell) and the rest of The Coterie crew will continue to navigate their early 20s as they deal with breakups, demand equality, find happiness and discover what it means to fight for what you believe in. Good Trouble stars Zuri Adele, Sherry Cola, Tommy Martinez, and newcomers Emma Hunton and Josh Pence.[4]

Callie attends a networking mixer that causes her to confront some perceptions about herself. Mariana's close relationship with Evan sparks rumors at Speckulate offices. Meanwhile, Alice encounters one of her idols at a queer comedy club where she's attempting to get her standup career off the ground.
6 Twenty-Fine July 23, 2019
Malika asks the Coterie crew to create performance pieces expressing themselves as their birthday presents to her, leading to a night of improv, music performances, and revelations.
7 In the Middle July 30, 2019
Mariana's app gets an accelerated launch timeline that puts stress on her and her team, especially when Gael lands a potential new opportunity that conflicts with a big presentation. Callie finds herself in the middle of a power struggle at the Legal Aid offices.
8 Disruptions August 6, 2019
Following multiple confrontations in her life, Callie decides to make a change. Gael learns something unexpected about Elijah from the group commissioning his new art project. Meanwhile, Mariana gets the real story about what happened with the female former engineer.

  • Callie will make a choice between Gael and Jamie in Season 2. However, this choice will not end the love triangle. The love triangle will continue to be a theme throughout the second season.[9]
  • Raj and Mariana's relationship will be explored, especially as they struggle to handle their co-workers' harassment.[10]
  • While unconfirmed, the casts of both Good Trouble and The Bold Type want a crossover event.[11]

  • Season 2 of Good Trouble was announced by Freeform on February 5, 2019, before the fifth episode of Season 1 aired.[12]
  • The cast and crew found out about the early renewal during the 2019 Television Critics Association press tour.
  • On March 27th, it was announced the premiere was set for June 18th, 2019.
  • Emma Hunton and Josh Pence were promoted to series regulars for Season 2.[13]
  • More co-stars from "The Fosters" will appear.[14]
  • Black Lives Matter activist and co-founder, Patrisse Cullers, joined the writers' room for Season 2.[15]
  • Season 2 will tackle issues such as homelessness and "how certain schools are a pipeline to prison for people of color.[16]
  • Davia and Dennis' relationship will be explored between the unlikely duo. Emma Hunton states that it adds an, "interesting dynamic" between them.[17]
